US Cisco Development Organization Software Engineer I (NSSTG)

Job Description: The Network Software & Systems Technology Group (NSSTG) builds the end-to-end software and solutions that drive the Internet and other networks using the IP technologies. NSSTG charter includes interfacing and leading the standard bodies like IETF, ITU, IEEE, 3GPP, Cable labs, and Broadband forum to define new technology standards. These technologies include IP (v4 and v6) routing protocols, MPLS, IP Multicast, Metro Ethernet and other access protocols, Mobile IP and layer 2 and 3 VPN services. NSSTG is also working on new initiatives like energy management, power grid management, network aware application development, optimized video and media delivery, network virtualization, and data-center interconnect protocols for better VM mobility both on network devices and on end-points. All of these protocols and services are delivered on a broad range of platforms, with a wide variety of operating systems including Linux and IOS.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Cisco -- i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, permanent residents, temporary residents (that is, individuals who have gone through the legalization program) refugees and asylees.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
-Graduating in Spring/Summer 2010 or graduated within 12 months prior to June 2010 with a Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related major.
